A Desire to Pray: Week 1

Desire is a potent thing, that’s why you can’t operate in faith in what someone else wants you to have. Because you wanting me to have it won’t actually produce it in me. I have to have a desire for it. The Bible says that God will give you the desires of your heart. But that doesn’t mean that He is like Santa Clause and He is going to give you anything you want. That is not what He’s saying. He will give you the desires of your heart, He will put in you a passion for certain things!

If you are born again, you know that the things you used to desire God has taken out of you and He has put NEW desires in you! These new desires are the potency you need to operate in your prayer life. God has given you the desires that are in your heart. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 says, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has comprehended the things God has in store for those who love Him, but God has revealed them to us through His Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit has shown you things He has in store for you that you haven’t even gotten yet. He is showing you things to come (Romans 8:16). When He advertises things you haven’t even gotten yet, you get the desire to go after it! God said to Joshua, “I have given you the land to posses it”. Now Joshua gets the desire to take it because God had shown him before he got it! That is why you have to get into the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit will give you commercials, and show you things to come. And it is these commercials that give Godly desires that you didn’t have before. And it is to that level of Christianity that He now says “what things soever ye desire” (Mark 11:24).

When the Holy Spirit gives you these new desires you have this passion for something you haven’t gotten yet. It is in you but it hasn’t materialized around you yet. So the issue is how do I birth outwardly that which I long for inwardly? One translation says, “What things soever ye desire, this pray”!

Don’t even pray about it if you don’t have a passion for it. God says if it doesn’t bother you, don’t bother me! Don’t bring up stuff to God just because you are supposed to pray about it, just saying stuff that you don’t have a passion for. Your passion is an indication that the Holy Spirit has shown it to you and that it is yours. And it is in your intensity about that that gives you the fervor to be able to pray! This is how it is birthed in your life!

“What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that ye shall receive them, and ye shall have them!” Mark 11:24

He is showing you how to get what is inside of you to come out and be birthed in your life! You will never get it out until you believe you have received it! your ability to believe you have received it is what makes you able to have it. Actually you get it before you got it! It’s yours before it’s yours!
