Thank the Lord that He has created us in the way that He has! We have the capacity to hear directly from Him, but at the same time we also have many other voices speaking to us. Our lives are a direct reflection of whose voice we are listening to, we are the sum total of the voices we pay attention to. Any time someone has our ear they influence us. Whose voice are you listening to?

God has called each one of us to bear fruit, and fruit that will remain! Notice I said fruit, and not fruits. It is the fruit of the Holy Spirit that God produces in and through our lives. “But the fruit of the Spirit  is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” Galatians 5:22-23. They are the manifest result of the Holy Spirit working in us.

God does not dispense graces out one by one like a banker handing out dollar bills at a drive through teller. “Oh God, please give me patience today, my temper is out of control”, or “please God, give me love, I’m feeling mean today”. No, Christ is our all in all, not individual graces being passed out. It is no longer I, but Christ who lives in me! Christ meets every need in our lives not by just changing our lives, but exchanging our lives for His. A life of reproduction, becoming more and more in His likeness!

The greater the need, the greater the manifestation of the fruit of the spirit. Allowing Christ to live through us. Not trying, but trusting. Not striving, but resting in the law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. Realizing that we are drawn by grace, not lead by expectation.

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in my name He may give you.” John 15:16

So we ave a new law: The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. And a new principle: we are drawn by grace, not led by expectation. If we allow this principle to work in our lives than we will live in this law. The result? The fruit of the Spirit!
