“Did you hear what so and so said about so and so? I can’t believe it!” We hear so many things from so many sources all of the time that it is easy to have a false perception regarding someone or something. So much so, that we can miss the intended mark or goal in our lives. Throw in a little negativity, a little worry, and you have the makings of a bitter mixture.
The devil loves false perception and uses it quite frequently to cause us to miss God’s mark for our lives personally and corporately. One of the biggest areas we see this is in regards to the mission field. That’s right, I said mission field. One of the largest most ripe harvest fields is right in your own community! In your Jerusalem, locally, people are starving for the gospel right before your eyes. Sure, a lot of the people here have their most basic needs met and they are not necessarily going hungry, but believe me, they are in need! They are hurting, confused, unfulfilled and lost. Desperately looking for the answer in life. We have the answer: Jesus Christ, the one who fills the void and completes the picture, the big picture. Jesus’ commission to us is to reveal His glory to the nations, starting with our community! We live in a lost and dying world that desperately needs Jesus Christ!
Jesus clearly says, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent me, and to finish His work. Do you not say, ‘there are still four months and then comes the harvest?’ Behold I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!” John 4:35
We are called to be the salt and light of our community, so go, let your light brightly shine!
